This is a large impressive piece! Porcelain, coiled and thrown on the kick-wheel, with black stain, clear glaze, and metal-leaf.
This is a "healed" vessel. It has been fired several times. There is what appears to be a visible crack on the floor of the piece, which has been "healed" over by glaze that has vitrified and sealed the crack. This tsubo does hold water, and has excellent integrity.
